Who We Are

Create Your Why offers professional career coaching, guidance, and training to assist individuals in making informed career and life decisions, navigating transitions, and overcoming challenges. Led by Dr. Kevin Glavin, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in career counseling, guidance, and development. Dr. Glavin has a wealth of experience working with a diverse range of organizations such as Saudi Aramco, NASA, Singapore Ministry of Manpower, Japanese Institute of Career Development, Australian Catholic University, and the University of Colorado Boulder. He has held leadership positions such as the President of the Ohio Career Development Association and Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Employment Counseling.

What We Do

We teach career practitioners how to utilize narrative psychology and storytelling interventions such as the Career Construction Interview (CCI) to assist their clients in achieving clarity, control, direction, confidence, and purpose. Our training combines advanced technology with hands-on supervised practicum experiences to help you move swiftly and seamlessly from theory to practice. We assist clients in navigating and resolving complex career and life transitions and challenges that cannot be addressed through traditional career theories and techniques. Utilizing post-modern career interventions, we focus on harnessing the power of personal narratives to design and re-design oneself in today’s ever-changing job market. We teach individuals how to construct, narrate and communicate their own unique story, resulting in a new narrative that can be used to navigate current career and life challenges, transitions and pave the way to design the life they desire. The techniques our clients learn can be applied to future career and life challenges as well.

How We Do It

We use narrative psychology and storytelling techniques to help individuals, explore, define, and implement their career related needs, values, interests, and aspirations. We have extensive training and experience in using qualitative assessments such as the Career Construction Interview to help individuals explore who they are, where they have been, and where they are going.
